The lake dropped six feet this year, back down to its normal level, and the fishing was incredible for all species of fish! The fishing on beautiful God’s Lake was the best we have ever seen, it just seems to get better and better! Our guest caught over 500 trophy sized fish during our short summer, proving once again that the name says it all, GOD’S LAKE, the best fishing that Canada has to offer for Pike, Brook Trout, Walleye and Lake Trout.
As usual, we had fantastic staff on hand to take care of our guests. Our guides are the best and proved it once again with the remarkable catches made by our guests. Everyone was delighted by the achievements of Bob, our chef, with the creation of such delicious meals as his beautiful “Chicken Helena”, a mouth watering “Prime Rib” and an endless plate of “Tender Ribs”. We’d like to thank all of our staff at Elk Island Lodge for their many contributions that contributed to another successful year at Elk Island Lodge. The overwhelming number of compliments from our guests about their efforts to make our lodge a “home away from home” was truly heartening. We’d like to welcome our new staff members, Alfred, Rob, Tasha, Eddie and Emma and thank them for adding their enthusiastic and friendly touch to our already fantastic group of staff.
